Benefits of a silk material

Lotus Paradis offers high-end fashion to its customers. Our skirts reflect a trendy style inspired by our stylists and are assembled with care and passion in Cambodia by experienced seamstresses. Our collection of 100% natural silk skirts has its origins in fair trade. We choose to work with natural, Cambodian silk, because it has many qualities. A few examples: it is airy, light, resistant, washable, and anti-allergic. Did you know this fabric can also be worn in different season? Wear our silk skirts in summer to keep cool, and in winter to stay warm!

Hand-woven

Light and elegant, our skirts are woven and sewn by hand.
Pair a skirt with a top or blouse from our online store for a perfect match. Or wear a skirt with a t-shirt of your choice. Our silk skirts offer special finishes: fringes, small pleats, slanted edges, satin ribbons, umbrella shapes, trapeze, short and midday, bold cuts, etc. All skirts of Lotus Paradis are timeless and enhance your figure. We have researched endlessly to find the right kind of natural silk, with the right quality of silk fibers. With this silk, we can create many different varieties: moiré silk, satin silk, matte silk, all available in a rainbow of luminous colours.

Silk is diverse

Taffeta, shantung, fine pure silk, pure silk muslin, organza: the choices with silk are endless. These natural bristle fibres vary in weight and thickness.
Taffeta, a soft and smooth natural silk, is used most often in our collection. The shantung, with the charm of the past, brings a rough texture to pure, ethic silk.. Discover the blue lazuli silk bomber jackets, lined with ivory shantung. Fine silk or chiffon, another ecological textile fibre in which we offer fine silk tunics, blouses, scarves and stoles.
It is possible to check if a silk is 100% pure by performing a simple test: burn a pure silk fibre, it will emit a smell of burnt hair.

Fair trade

Lotus Paradis has built and developed its project with a positive vision and with fair trade in mind.
None of our clothes contain any harmful products or heavy metals harmful to health. We work with one of the best 100% natural silks in the world, Cambodia silk. There are many benefits for the Cambodian women who weave and assemble our silk clothing line. They achieve financial independence, a respectable social status, earn twice as much as is normal in Cambodia and receive the benefits of health insurance. Through fair trade, Lotus Paradis aims to develop the culture of sustainability in luxury fashion. This way, we keep working toward a bright future for both people, nature and animals.

World Fair Trade Organization label

Lotus Paradis silk is certified by the WFTO label a label from the World Fair Trade Organization that is oriented towards equality at work and recognition towards artisans.
The Dystar dye used for our silk jackets is certified Ecotex, which makes sure that the dye contains no toxic products or heavy metals harmful to health.

Story of Lotus Paradis

The story of Lotus Paradis is the adventure of Sophie Brooks, creator of the brand. It took her only one trip to Cambodia, her first, to understand that the source of her inspiration for clothing would from this country. Sophie Brooks was caught by the magic of silk. The Cambodian type of silk is recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world. She created her Lotus Paradis business by clearly positioning herself in sustainable fashion, and by ensuring the design of unique quality clothing from responsible fabrics that preserve the environment. The Cambodian women working for Lotus Paradis use a type of weaving that’s done entirely by hand using traditional Khmer looms. The Khmer looms make no use of any polluting energy sources. The weavers weave the skirts right in the middle of their own villages.
